I finished Whole 30 and still going….

So if you have been following me I recently did a Whole 30.  My goal going in was to just fight off my sugar craving.  I had been making healthier changes here and there over the past 5 years but the sugar one was a big deal to me and I knew it would be challenging.  So here is the rest of the story…

Week 1 was a little challenging.  I did have cravings and I always felt hungry.  By week 2 the sugar cravings started subsiding and as of today I don’t really have them at all.  Today is over 30 days into the program.  I could start introducing things back into my diet to ‘test’ them with my body, but I don’t really want to.  Now don’t get my wrong I’m going to eat some things that approved here and there, think Paleo, just so my body knows it is there.  I don’t want to go on vacation without a lot of good options and then get sick from eating.  I’ve learned to make better choices so tackling eating out more will be my next goal.

But….I’m staying on the program because how I feel!  I lost a little weight in my midsection, my digestive system started to improve and I can physically tell inflammation is down overall.  My back which has given me problems the past 5 years doesn’t hurt, like ever, for the most part.  I didn’t even notice it at first, but now it’s something that I just get excited about.  I feel great, I look great….why would I want to go back to the way it was before.

So if you are reading this, I encourage you to look up the program and do it.  I did it with a few other people and they are shocked at their own results.  I am even encouraging some friends to do it now as well.  So go for it…YOU are worth it!

It’s back to school time! This is exciting but can also be a bit of a scary time for some of us and our health. dōTERRA makes it a little easier with their On Guard® Protecting Throat Drops. Some of the key ingredients in these throat drops are Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, and Myrrh all of which will help you and your students stay awake and their immune systems boosted during studying hours. When I teach music lessons after school I sometimes get a scratchy throat so I grab one of these. I also diffuse OnGuard Essential Oil when the students come to my house…with their germs. 🙂  To learn more about this product, check out dōTERRA’s spotlight on their Protecting Throat Drops here: https://www.doterra.com/US/en/blog/spotlight-doterra-on-guard-protecting-throat-drops.

And here is a fun diffuser blend

Have you added Patchouli oil to your essential oil collection yet? If you haven’t tried Patchouli oil yet, you are in for a pleasant surprise. There are several reasons to use Patchouli oil, but here are the top three benefits:

  1. Patchouli oil can benefit the skin. Use Patchouli oil to help get rid of the occasional skin imperfection or blemish, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, or just to improve the overall look of your complexion.
  2. Patchouli oil can help to balance the emotions. When used topically or aromatically, Patchouli oil can help to balance your emotions when you are feeling frazzled or overwhelmed.
  3. Patchouli oil has many useful beautifying properties. In addition to using Patchouli oil for skin, you can also use it in your personal hygiene routine as a perfume, or to beautify the hair.

If you are ready to learn even more about the uses and benefits of Patchouli, take a look at this article about Patchouli oil on the doTERRA blog.
